Survivor Results: Week 3

The Episode

Okay, here's the important stuff that happened:

Kota and Fang were remixed, with each former tribe being split neatly in two. At New Kota, this worked out well for Marcus, Charlie, Corinne, and Bob, who managed to stay together. Also on that tribe, and probably feeling a little vulnerable right now, are Susan, Randy, and Dan. This allows the bromance showmance of Marcus and Charlie to continue unabated.

New Fang lost out once again on the beefcake factor, and looked pretty weak in their first challenge. Former Fang outcasts Crystal, Danny, and Kenny found themselves running the show, along with former Fang bigwig Matty. In the minority were Ace, Kelly, and Jacquie, who promptly set about trying to get each other voted off.

Sugar wasn't chosen by anyone, which meant that she got a free trip to Exile Island. Since she already has the immunity idol, she chose comfort and noshed on fruit for a couple of days. She was fated to go to the tribe that voted someone out first, which turned out to be Fang.

The immunity challenge was a little like a game of polo, but instead of using mallets on horseback, the contestants were each in a little circular boat with a combo paddle/ball scooper. It seemed like they had a really hard time moving the boats at all, and so the action was a little limited. New Kota won, based largely on the strong play of Marcus, who made a habit of getting the ball and passing it to Randy for goals. They scored the first 3 goals in a best-of-five contest, sending Fang to tribal council.

At Fang, Crystal, Ken, and Danny were sure they wanted to keep Ace, based on his proficiency in challenges, but they weren't sure whether they wanted to keep the challenge-strong Jacquie or the friendless and unpopular Kelly. In the end, they decided that they didn't want to face a strong threesome in Ace/Jacquie/Sugar, so they sent Jacquie home. Next week, she'll be replaced by Sugar, so we'll have 7 vs. 7 again.

The Pool

Most people chose to let their IP ride, which meant that everyone except for Mom correctly predicted the Kota immunity win. Even worse for Mom, she picked Jacquie to win, and thereby took a big tumble in the standings. Carl had the best week of anyone, having the least faith in Jacquie (he put her out in 11th) and thereby losing the fewest points. Mike and Paul finally broke their tie for first, to Mike's detriment.

1st: Paul 106 (-5 +4)
2nd: Mike 98 (-13 +4)
3rd: Jen 93 (-6 +4)
4th: Matt 85 (-11 +4)
5th: Carl 85 (-4 +4)
6th: Mom 84 (-14 +0)
7th: Kim 82 (-13 +0)
8th: Dawn 71 (-5 +4)
