DWTS: Week 9 Performance Results
This week's scores:
Kristi: 29 + 28 = 57
Jason: 28 + 27 = 55
Cristian: 27 + 29 = 56
Marissa: 26 + 26 = 52
I've never seen the judges be so stingy with the 10s this late in the season. There have only been one or two perfect 30s awarded the whole season, while a typical season would have seen 5 or 6 perfect scores by now.
Jason and Edyta's introductory clip package seemed like the beginning of a soft core pornography film; a skimpily dressed Edyta smacked a blackboard with a pointer while haranguing Jason in her European accent. Of course, calling Edyta skimpily dressed is like calling a bluebird blue.
Kristi's clip showed what may have been the first truly useful innovative training technique in the history of the show. Typical examples of innovative training techniques have included trips to Sea World, practicing dance on the beach, and practicing in a boxing ring, all of which are ridiculous. But Kristi sat in on an advanced dancing class and received feedback from the dancers in the group, which actually seemed helpful.
Kristi was placed on top of the leader boards after her two week hiatus, which has to make her feel better coming up to this final elimination. With only four dancers remaining, none can be said to be truly safe from tepid audience voting. It's hard to predict who will go home at this point, but it's easy to say who should be going home: low scoring Marissa. Even though she has shown remarkable improvement and moves extremely well (despite her stubby physique), she still can't come up to the level of the other three. But we'll see what happens.
Standings
1st: Matt 1035 (+8)
2nd: Lisa 1014 (+8)
3rd: Dawn 934 (+8)
4th: Kim 900 (+8)
5th: Mom 878 (+0)
6th: Carl 861 (+0)
7th: Paul 762 (+8)
The standings remain unchanged, with Mom and Carl slipping slightly as compared to the rest of us.
Tomorrow's elimination should shake things up once again.
Death to me!
