DWTS Standings: Week 9
I only half-watched tonight's results episode, because most of the time was taken up by little kids doing some ballroom dancing as part of a children's competition the show has been featuring all season.
The kids are alternately cute and creepily self-aware, and that's just during the interviews. One cute moment came when host Tom Bergeron jokingly asked a little girl to give him her autograph after her performance. The girl took the offered pen and started to write, and when it was time for her to hear her comments, she was still scribbling away. Hey Tom, if you don't want her to take you seriously, don't give her a pen. It was cute, though.
Marissa's low scores finally caught up with her, and she managed to be only a little weepy (I would say, appropriately weepy) after she was eliminated.
This means that, arguably, the three best dancers made it into the finale, which is not always the case.
Weirdly, everyone in the pool thought that Marissa would do about as well as she did, as is reflected in the...
Standings
1st: Matt 1025 (-10)
2nd: Lisa 994 (-20)
3rd: Kim 950 (+50)
4th: Dawn 924 (-10)
5th: Carl 851 (-10)
6th: Mom 848 (-30)
7th: Paul 732 (-30)
Even though everyone was within three on Marissa's departure, the closeness of the scores made for a lot of shaking up.
I lost only 10 points and hung onto my slim lead.
Lisa dropped 20, but remains my closest competition in second place.
Kim was the only one to hit Marissa's elimination dead on, and her 50 point bounce allowed her to jump over Dawn to take third place.
Dawn lost only 10 points, but it was enough to cause her to slip into fourth.
Carl lost only 10 points, which allowed him to move up a space into 5th.
Mom and Paul lost 30 apiece, which cost Mom 5th place and cemented Paul even more firmly into last place.
Our three finalists have been determined-- Jason, Kristi, and Cristian will compete for the victory next week. They will perform three dances instead of the usual two, and one of them will be crowned the dancing champion.
This is your chance to catch up and take the lead. In addition to sending your top scorer position, rank the three finalists according to how you think they will finish. Each correct guess will net you 50 points. Combine that with the normal elimination scoring, and it becomes possible for anyone to win.
Good luck everyone!
