DWTS: Week 7 Performance Results
This week's scores:
Jason: 29 + 26 = 55
Kristi: 26 + 28 = 54
Marissa: 27 + 25 = 52
Shannon: 27 + 24 = 51
Mario: 24 + 27 = 51
Cristian: 25 + 21 = 46
Despite the fact that there were 12 separate dances, no one rated a 30, and there were precious few 10s handed out. I thought that the judges were being harsh in general, particularly on Kristi, whose opening number was fantastic, but only garnered a 26.
The big moment of the night came midway through Cristian's performance, when he seemed to miss catching hold of partner Cheryl's arm. In the seconds that followed, it became clear that Cristian was in a lot of pain, and had lost the use of one of his arms. 'Holy cow!' I thought. 'Cristian's broken his arm!' After the dance, when Cristian opted to hear the judge's score instead of taking a break (he was overruled by host Tom Bergeron), I thought 'Well, it must not be broken. But I wonder if his tendon snapped or is it just a nasty sprain?' Then, after the commercial break, Tom informed us that it was nothing but a lousy muscle cramp. So, there was a bunch of drama, but I don't suppose it will have any lasting effect on the outcome.
The judges said that they were judging Cristian solely on the dance up until the point of the injury, but they only awarded him a 21, the lowest score of the night.
That leaves Mario, Cristian, and Shannon at the bottom of the scoring. Last week, Mario was in the top two among judges scores, and he still wound up in the bottom two after the audience voting was tabulated. That would strongly suggest that his number is up this week.
But enough about the show. What about the...
Standings
1st: Lisa 1088 (+8)
2nd: Matt 999 (+8)
3rd: Dawn 978 (+8)
4th: Kim 954 (+8)
5th: Carl 921 (+0)
6th: Mom 918 (+0)
7th: Paul 836 (+8)
Not much to see here. Everyone but Carl and Mom went with Kristi. Ironically, this was the first week Kristi faltered, but it didn't matter, as neither Carl nor Mom picked Jason, the only dancer who beat her.
Good luck everyone!
