DWTS Standings: Week 4

Sometimes the audience votes are enough to keep the low-scoring performer from elimination, and sometimes they're not, as Adam found out to his detriment when he was eliminated this week.

Adam managed to come off as both funny and genuine during his time on the show, and any time he was on the screen was a time to perk up and pay attention. I really wanted him to hang on for a few more weeks, but it wasn't to be.

After a final farewell plug for his movie, Adam said some nice things about partner Julianne Hough (whose two-time winning streak was snapped), and shuffled off this mortal coil. Or at least off our airwaves for the time being.

On a program that has traditionally seen male-heavy finales, three of the four eliminations have been men. Could Rodham-Clintonmania be infusing the mostly-female audience with a sense of feminist solidarity? If we get the first-ever all-woman finale, that's my interpretation.

Standings

1st: Dawn 1030 (-20)
1st: Lisa 1030 (+50)
3rd: Matt 961 (-10)
4th: Mom 958 (-40)
5th: Carl 931 (-30)
6th: Kim 906 (-10)
7th: Paul 848 (-30)

The big winner this week was Lisa, who rode 50 bonus points to a tie with Dawn for first place in the pool. This is the first time anyone has accurately predicted an ouster since the beginning of the pool, when Lisa and co-leader Dawn both accurately pegged Penn as the first dancer out.

Kim and I also had a good week, relatively speaking, losing only 10 points apiece. I bypassed Mom for a distant third place, while Kim got a little closer to fifth, and a little further from 7th.

Carl and Dawn had so-so weeks, losing thirty and twenty points, respectively. Paul and Mom were the worst off; Paul paid 30 points after predicting that Adam would be first to exit the show, while Mom dropped a big 40 points for erring in the other direction, predicting Adam to last until fifth place.

Be sure that you send me your Best Score Prediction for next week.

Good luck, everyone!
