Dancing With The Stars: Week 3 Picks
Best Score Predictions
Tonight, the ten remaining stars will perform the tango and the jive. The tango is usually a melodramatic, romantic dance while the jive is more fun and loosey-goosey. Our predictions for top judge scores are:
Dawn: Kristi
Carl: Mario
Kim: Kristi
Lisa: Kristi
Matt: Kristi
Mom: Mario
Paul: Kristi
So, if Kristi scores highest, then Dawn, Kim, Paul, Lisa, and I will receive 8 bonus points. If Mario scores highest, then Carl and Mom will get 21 bonus points apiece.
Elimination Predictions
Tomorrow, we see the second elimination night. Starting this week and for the rest of the competition, only one star will be eliminated each week. If you predict the elimination exactly, you get 50 bonus points.
Here are everyone's predictions:
Dawn: Mario
Mom: Jason
Lisa: Mario
Carl: Penn (not eligible)
Matt: Penn (not eligible)
Kim: Adam
Paul: Jason
Four stars to watch this week:
--Can Adam muster enough "fun guy" votes to offset his two left feet? Since Penn is already gone, and Mario and Jason both seem like shoo-ins to last awhile, the only one with any kind of a chance to pick up those 50 bonus points is Kim. If Adam goes this week, she could make a run at the top of the pool.
-- Will the hyperactive and emotional Marissa leave this week? Everyone except for Lisa and Mom have Marissa lasting until the final four, so if she were to go, it would catapult the two of them to the top of the pool. She was the only star to cry last week when Penn and Monica were eliminated (including Penn and Monica), so I expect some Grade A bawling when her turn comes.
-- Will Marlee's novelty wear off? In season 4, everyone was awed by the dancing abilities of the one-legged Heather Mills, and she wound up lasting until 7th place (which is to say, almost as far as Cliff from Cheers). Like Heather, Marlee can pull off dancing, but her disability puts her at a very real disadvantage that can't always be glossed over. When the competition starts asking the stars to perform two dances a week, she might really struggle (since she presumably has to do more memorizing than the others). Only pool-leader Dawn picked Marlee to go all the way to the top three, and if she exits early, it could threaten Dawn's lead.
-- Will Mario go deep? Paul, Dawn, and Lisa have him picked to go early. Kim, Mom, Carl and I have him in our top three. So far, the judges have been wowed by his sense of rhythm and speed on the dance floor. But his poor posture and lack of formality might cause him to lose favor quickly. If he goes somewhere in the middle, it won't really matter. If he goes early or late, it could have a huge impact.
Good luck everyone!
