Dancing With the Stars Week 1a Results

The first week of competition is always the most interesting, because you have absolutely no idea of how well anyone is going to do. This season was no exception, with the men's performances ranging from slightly embarrassing to surprisingly good.

As show host Tom Bergeron explained, there will be no eliminations until after next Monday's performances, after which one man and one woman will be eliminated. For the purposes of the pool, I'm counting whoever they announce first as the first elimination, even though it's more of a simultaneous elimination.

The stars were all at least somewhat personable, and it will be sad to see one of them go right away.

The men scored as follows:

Jason: 22
Cristian: 21
Steve: 18
Penn: 16
Adam: 15

For the pool, this means that Carl and I split the 42 bonus points, leaving the standings as follows:

Week 1B Performance (Women Only)
Best Score Predictions
Tomorrow (or tonight if you're reading this on Tuesday), the six women will perform for the first time, which means another 42 bonus points will be up for grabs.

Mom: Kristi
Paul: Marissa

So, if Kristi scores higher with the judges than Marissa, then Dawn, Kim, Lisa, me, and Mom will all receive 8 bonus points. If Marissa scores higher than Kristi, then Paul and Carl will get 21 bonus points apiece, and Carl will have grabbed a big early lead in the pool. If Kristi and Marissa receive the same score, we will all receive 6 bonus points.
