Amazing Race Standings: Week 6

Amazing Race Standings: Week 5

1. Paul: 928 (-69)
2. Matt: 871 (+19)
3. Carl: 719 (-41)
4. Dawn: 716 (-37)
5. Kim: 581 (-37)

This week the teams flew to Croatia, and the flight that they wound up with turned out to be more important than anything else in the leg. The masonry Roadblock was a non-issue, although the Detour tasks did seem to have an impact. Rowboating seemed to be the correct answer, but the only time it mattered was when Azaria and Hendekea failed to overtake the plodding Nicolas and Donald, and were therefore eliminated. That means we're down to five teams without having seen any non-elimination legs, which is pretty shocking. Next week, the Amazing Race won't air due to the Survivor finale, so we'll pick back up in two weeks.

In the pool, Paul finally paid some kind of price for his slavish devotion to Azaria and Hendekea, as his favorite team bit the dust, costing him a pool-worst 69 points. The good news is, everyone made a gain on him this week. The bad news is, he still leads the pool by a comfortable margin.

I picked Nathan and Jennifer to win, which netted me 60 FPF points, so it was a very good week for me. I'm still 50 points off of first place, though, so I need another big jump to overtake the lead.

Carl and Dawn continue their battle for third place, with only three points separating them. But their real problem is that they still trail first place by about 200 points, which means they need some serious bonus points to catch up.

Kim had a middle of the road week, with a 37 point loss, but she's so far in the back of the pack that she has her work cut out for her just catching up with fourth place.

Next week, the Amazing Race won't air due to the Survivor finale, so we'll pick back up in two weeks. Death to Paul!
