OK to cry: Women hurt more

The awkwardly named Bradon Wilhelmi of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons published research which puts a new spin on the chestnut that women are more delicate than men: as it turns out, women feel pain more intensely than men, because they have more nerve receptors. Wilhelmi found 34 nerve receptors per square inch of facial skin in women, compared to just 17 in men. It is hoped that the findings will lead to better post-operative pain management in patients of different sexes.

Ok, given that I whine like a baby when my girlfriend tugs one of my whiskers while shaving me, this news item makes me feel...inadequate, to say the least.
